Q1: What is the cost of your course based on?
A: The fees are based on the high quality of our course delivery standards. The education, training, and experience of the instructors at Ontario New Drivers, along with their excellent communication skills, are important factors that we are sure you will appreciate during our driving course and for many years afterward. The level of our service and commitment before, during and after your time with us will allow you to experience the difference.   Q2: I am on a tight budget. Do you have payment options available? A: Yes. A deposit will get you started in the class, and the balance will be due when starting the in-car portion. However, we can personally arrange any custom-made payment option for you.   Q3: Will I get a driver education certificate when I complete the course? A: OND pays for and completes on line your electronic MTO certification. This has a direct link to ''Drive Test" qualifying you for the G1 road test credit. For Insurance purposes MTO indicates you must obtain in person, a paper copy at any (Service Ontario) office, ask for your (DLH) record or (Drivers Licence History). MTO fees may apply for this paper copy.   Q4: How long will it take to complete the course? A: The classroom program can be completed in 4 days or 4 months; it's up to you. The in-car portion is totally flexible and may be completed in any time frame that suits your schedule. However, the entire program must be completed within one year in order to obtain MTO certification.   Q5: What will I learn during the classroom program? Do you teach defensive driving? A: MTO approved and OND developed C.A.R.S. (Classroom and Road Safety) curriculum is used as the basis of our in class program, along with video and PowerPoint presentations and current, relevant news releases. Combined with our comprehensive and interactive program, you will learn strategic driving through risk assessment and management skills, along with decision-making and defensive-driving skills, helping you become a confident, responsible and co-operative driver.   Q6: I have special learning needs and may not keep pace with other students. Can you help? A: With our specially-trained classroom teachers, the Ontario New Drivers program is suitable for those students who may need special attention or assistance in learning. Our very experienced in-car instructors will teach to your needs and learning capabilities and help you all the way through to the road test.   Q7: What happens if I miss a classroom session? A: If you miss any session in the classroom program, you will have the opportunity to attend that same session on any subsequent course at no extra cost.   Q8: Do I need to have my G1 licence to start the program? A: No. However, you should obtain your G1 licence and start your in-car training within eight weeks of completing the classroom portion of the course. This will help in maintaining classroom and in-car continuity.   Q9: Do I need to complete the in-class program before I start my in-car lessons? A: No. You may begin the in-car training at any time once you have started the classroom program and have your G1 or G2 licence.   Q10: Are the in-car lessons private or in group form? A: The lessons are private. We pride ourselves in offering you personal one-on-one training in order to maximize your learning time. Group lessons are upon special request only.   Q11: How many in-car lessons do I get and how long are they? A: Your Instructor will individually schedule 10 hours with you, in either 45min/60min or 90min. sessions to maximize your learning experience.   Q12: I have a very busy schedule; when can I book my in-car lessons? A: You may book in-car lessons at your convenience. They may be scheduled during mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends. We recommend that you vary these times in order to experience different driving conditions and environments.   Q13: Will I be able to take any lessons on the highway? A: Yes. As a G1 licence holder, this is an important opportunity you will have. In fact, your Ontario New Drivers Instructor is the only individual authorized to drive with you on the highway.   Q14: May I use the instructor's car for the road test? A: Yes. Your instructor's car is available for your road test at an extra cost, however, you may qualify for our exclusive Ontario New Drivers (Discount Road Test Package)(Ask for details)   Q15: Do I have to pass one final test at the end of the program? A: No. Your final mark is based on full attendance and participation in the class, along with ongoing assignments, assessments and final Quiz. Evaluations in-car are also counted.   Q16: Who may I speak with at Ontario New Drivers? A: You may speak with the Owner; your Classroom teacher and In-car Instructor before the program even starts! In fact OND is the only driving school that allows and even encourages this type of dialogue with our students!
